Reflecting, Amorim said: “We did well. We played better with the ball. I think we started well and then we lost control of the game due to some bad decisions but the boys did well. We are close to the second goal with many chances, it is very difficult but they recover.
“We are not playing our best but we have regrouped since the last match. I know the opponent is different. It was not as fast. You can see the connection. I think we need to be more clinical at the right moment because that can help us a lot.”
A win next week would seal United’s place in the top eight of the standings, meaning they would skip a play-off match to progress to the knockout stages.

And the boss admits he is keen to get them in his side over the line for more rest and recovery after a heavy season so far.
Amorim added: “It’s two weeks free to prepare for the Premier League so it’s really important to be in this position.
“We started the game by scoring first, that’s important. You can see that in Europe, it is quite different. We scored the first goal and it’s not a foul in the Premier League.”
Before signing off for the night, Amorim was asked about a possible move before the end of the January window.
He responded: “I don’t know what will happen, let’s focus on the games and focus on the team. Anything can happen.”
