President Donald Trump participated in exchanging giving with a Ukrainian journalist who told him during a press conference at the conclusion of the NATO summit that her husband was fighting in the war in their homeland.

The correspondent, who said she was working in BBC, participated that her husband is a soldier in Ukraine and that she is currently living with their children in Warsaw, Poland, after more than three years of Russian invasion.

Trump, the invitation of journalists in The Hague, the Netherlands, called on a question to women after she noticed that she is “enthusiastic”.

“Where are you from?” Trump asked.

“I am from Ukraine,” Trump told my curiosity. I asked the president whether the United States was ready to sell more anti -air missile systems, known as Patriot, to Ukraine.

“We know that Russia has been bombing Ukraine now strongly,” she added.

Trump asked the reporter, “Do you live yourself now in Ukraine?”

“My husband is there,” she said.

Trump noticed, “Wow,” I can see that you … you know, it’s amazing. ”

The woman added: “I am with the children, I am in Warsaw, in fact.”

Trump continued to ask the woman about her personal relationship with the news she was eliminating. She replied that her husband was already a soldier in Ukraine, where he drew an audible reaction from Trump.

Trump said: “Wow. These are harsh things, right? This is difficult.” “Let me tell you only, they want to get anti -Motisy missiles, as they call it, the patriots. We will see if we can make some available.”

“You know, it’s very difficult to get it. We also need them,” Trump said. “We were providing them with Israel, and they are very effective. They are 100 % effective. It is difficult to believe how effective. They want more than anything else, as you know. This is a very good question. I wish you a lot of luck. I mean, I can see it is very annoying to you.”

“Say hello to your husband. Well?” Trump added.

Trump met with Ukrainian leader Folodimir Zellinsky on the sidelines of the NATO summit earlier on Wednesday, and suggested that increasing spending by the Atlantic alliance can help prevent Russian aggression in the future against his neighbors.

At the press conference, Trump entered the CNN and the New York Times about covering the American strikes on Iran, but it showed warmth to the Ukrainian journalist and asking it about Patriot missiles.

Over the course of the war, the United States routinely pressed the allies to provide Ukraine air defense systems, but many of them hesitate to abandon high -tech systems, especially countries in Eastern Europe, which also feel threatened by Russia.

NATO members agreed to raise their spending targets by 2035 to 5 % of GDP annually on the basic defense requirements as well as defense and security spending. This goal was 2 % of GDP.

Trump said the Ukraine crisis “also highlighted the urgency of rebuilding our defensive industrial base, whether in the United States or between allied countries.” He said that the United States cannot rely on foreign opponents of critical minerals.

Soon after seeing Zelinski, Trump said he would soon meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He pointed out that there are difficulties in dealing with both leaders.

Trump was asked by a different correspondent whether the United States will contribute to any other money to Ukraine’s defense this year in addition to the $ 5 billion offered by the Allies.
