President Donald Trump has deviated a day between the launch of the Federal Reserve Chairman Powell and allowed him to end his term in the leadership of the central bank.
Trump suggested on Tuesday evening to a group of Republican legislators that he would shoot Powell, according to a senior White House official. He asked a group of conservatives whether he should overthrow Powell, and approved the idea, according to the official, whose identity was not disclosed to exchange the details of private conversations.
Such a move will be an extraordinary escalation in the Trump campaign against the Federal Reserve due to fixed interest rates, and the Federal Reserve Independence may destroy the monetary policy.
Trump is famous for the intensity and decline in ideas. Speaking to journalists at the Oval Office on Wednesday, the President admitted to floating the “concept” of the overthrow of Powell. But he indicated that he would allow Powell to serve the remaining nine months of his term as the Federal Reserve Kurds.
“We are not planning to do anything. We are very worried. Fortunately, we get a change … we will choose a good person,” Trump said.
