According to Durov, the French police committed a “mistake” by failing to follow the appropriate legal channels before August 2024 when applications for user data. He said that the company has been constantly responded to each request that is legally binding and maintains moderation practices in line with industry standards.

Dorov said he was still required to return to France every 14 days, with no date for an appeal.

“Unfortunately, the only result of my arrest has so far was huge damage to France as a free country,” he said.

This is not the first time that Dorov has criticized the French authorities.
