There is no mechanical problem that appears in the fuel keys in the fatal flying crash, the FAA official says star-news.press/wp

The head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Thursday that the deadly accident last month from the Air India Boeing 787 does not seem to be caused by a mechanical or unintended movement of fuel control.
“We can say with a high level of confidence that it does not seem to be a mechanical problem with the Boeing Fuel Control Unit,” Brian Bidford, Director of the Federal Aviation Department, told reporters on the sidelines of an air show in Wisconsin.
He said that the Federal Aviation Administration employees took out the units, tested them and made the inspectors get and review the inspectors. “We are very comfortable because this is not a problem with the unintended manipulation of fuel control,” he said.
The investigation into the crash of India, which killed 241 out of 242 people on board and 19 on the ground, focuses on fuel control keys in the Boeing 787.
Boeing and Air India did not immediately comment.
The keys control the flow of fuel to the aircraft engines, allowing the pilots to start or close them on the ground, or manually intervene during the engine failure on the plane.

Air India said on Tuesday that it has completed the precautionary inspections of the fuel control key on all 787 and 737 plane, with no problems.
A preliminary report from the Bureau of Aircraft Accidents in India earlier this month found that the keys had turned almost simultaneously from “running” to “cut” shortly after take off, causing power engines to lose.
Reuters reported last week, noting that a source of driving, which is recorded on the flight of India from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, suggested the captain to cut fuel into the engines.
Earlier this month, FAA and Boeing released the notifications that the fuel key was standing on safe Boeing aircraft.
