Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli army carried out many strikes targeting nuclear installations and Iranian military sites in and around the country’s capital.

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed late on Thursday that the United States did not participate in the strikes, as it urged Iran not to target American interests or employees in the region.

Fischer said President Trump does not “want Iran to get a nuclear weapon”, but he was “hoped” that nuclear talks would be able to avoid the conflict.
Fischer said: “Of course, the big question is how the United States interacts with any response from Iran. If it is aside with Israel, this indicates that nuclear talks have taken place.”
He added: “(A special envoy for the Middle East) is still Steve Wittakouf intends to hold another meeting with the Iranians at the weekend. Of course, the matter will return to the Iranians to decide whether or not they want to go.”
Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasserzadeh said on Wednesday that his country will target the American military bases in the region if the nuclear talks collapsed and that the United States launched attacks.
“Some officials on the other side threaten the conflict if the negotiations do not take advantage of their fruits. If a conflict is imposed on us … all American bases are within our reach, and we will boldly aim them in the host countries,” Nasserazadeh told reporters.
Washington and Tehran have held five rounds of nuclear talks since April, when Trump has been looking for a deal that would restricts uranium enrichment in Iran.
