Edinburgh-based startup Throw A six-digit investment has protected and welcomed three additional industrial leaders on its board to connect the underoutlized venues with remote/hybrid workers.
The latest investment round includes SkyCenor’s co-founder Gareth Williams’s follow-on funding, who has supported Swiffief since 2022. The Scottish Government’s Techscale program, Scottish Enterprise and private investors also supported the round.
New funds will accelerate the swarf rollout in additional UK regions and select European markets. Looking forward, the company is preparing to extend the global expansion to the end of this year to increase $ 1.1 million.

Established during the epidemic in 2021, Swarf provides a mobile application that connects the underwined hospitality to distant and hybrid professionals-such as cafes, hotels and co-operative centers converted a dynamic off-pick workspace. The platform enables access to flexible workplaces and enhances community busyness through exclusive parks and curates events.
In line with investment, Sourf has appointed three strategic boards to strengthen the leadership of international growth.
- Alison Griev, the founder of G-Hold and the innovation expert of the product, joined the Griev board as chairman.
- Scott Lecky, who previously served as a fraction of Sawarf CTO, took the role of a permanent board to lead the company’s technological evolution.

The app is currently proud of a network of more than 300 activated venues across the UK and has created more than 11,000 users. According to internal data, it has earned about $ 2 million for its hospitality partners, highlighting the potential for platforms to create real economic effects for venues during the off-peak period.
