Digital ruble retreated: Can Moscow prevent further delay?
It seems that its previous data on this issue indicates that the central bank will follow up on the order of smaller and regional banks to follow its example in September 2027.
Digital rubbing was to be launched on July 1 this year. But the central bank suddenly postponed the launch “indefinitely” in early March. The bank was amazed when the public was astonished at first to give any timetable to launch an alternative.
This led to a wave of speculation that Moscow was preparing to give up CBDC. Others suggested that Moscow may push the decline to at least 2027.
Some expected that the central bank will follow alternatives that work with digital ruble. They cited a lukewarm reception of the Rub digital plans from both the public sector and the banking sector.
However, the state -run Russian news agency Tas I mentioned that some of the country’s largest banks are looking forward to.

A VTB spokesman said that Megabank was already prepared technically for employment. Meanwhile, Sovcombank said it would be “completely ready” to customers to make digital rubble transactions by the Central Bank’s deadline.
Both banks are currently working with Moscow on the continuous digital ruble pilot. “As the first bank to join the experimental project”, it was “technical ready” for launch. He added:
“We are interested in providing our customers with access to the latest financial tools as soon as possible. We expect to launch a wide -range digital ruble for Russian citizens.”
Legislation always heads to always
The central bank says it has sent a bill to Douma State. Hope to perpetuate her quickly demands the banking sector in Russian law.
Legionships have previously claimed that Russian CBDC would be operational with digital currencies issued by other BRICS member states.
Some have claimed that it would be used in the cross -border trade sector, where Russian merchants will help avoid sanctions systems.
But critics claim that the currency may violate the rights of citizens. It also complains that it will be difficult to use the digital Rub in more far parts of Russia, as the internet connection is often unstable.
