US intelligence sources say that the President of Iran was injured during the Israeli strikes star-news.press/wp

Iranian President Masoud Bezishian was injured during an Israeli attack on Iran last month, and two US intelligence sources confirmed to CBS News.

The sources told CBS News that reports in the media run by the Iranian state were accurate that Pezeshkian was attending a meeting in the Supreme National Security Council when the Israeli strike occurred. The government media report said that he was injured in the leg during his escape through the emergency column.

It is still unclear whether it is intended to be deliberately targeted.

During an interview with Taker Karlson earlier this month, Pezeshkian claimed that Israel tried to assassinate him by bombing an area where he was participating in a meeting.

When asked if he believed that Israel tried to kill him, he answered Bzshkian, “They tried, yes, and they behaved accordingly, but they failed.”

“The United States was not behind the attempt in my life. It was Israel,” he said in the interview.

Pereeshkian did not specify the exact date of the strike.

The White House did not comment on the report, and the Israeli government did not have. An Iranian government official refused to comment.

The conflict was killed for 12 days between Israel and Iran hundreds in Iran and 28 in Israel. Both Israel and Iran won victory after the ceasefire by the Trump administration.

Some of Iran’s leaders were killed in the conflict, including the head of the Revolutionary Guards, General Hussein Salami, and the head of the ballistic missile program for the Guard, General Amir, on his barn.

The United States also made air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities during the conflict.
