Planium partners secured more than $ 25 million from Italia to support the new biomethane plant in northern Italy

PlaneAn independent Spanish investment group focusing on renewable energy, energy transformation, circular economy and social infrastructure has financed more than $ 25 million from Italia to support the first biomethane plant in Italy. The financing was structured through the bilateral project finance agreement.

This plant is located in Pavia province in Lomdi region in northern Italy and is expected to start working in the first quarter of 2026. It is a part of the wide platform of four biomethhen plants across the country, after an agreement closed with the Aeragorn value leadership in July last year. Each plant designed has a capacity of about 500 standard cubic meters per hour.

This initial facility has already participated in the third biomethane tariff auction organized by GSE, Italy’s renewable power incentive company. It will process about 50,000 tonnes of livestock and agricultural waste annually, contributing to better local waste management. The plant is also one of Italy designed to recover the entire co -co -quo, which means that it will have a stronger impact on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions compared to the standard facility.

Italy’s energy transfer is one step forward

The concept for the platform was launched in mid -2021, while plainium partners, in addition to the leadership of the Araghan value, committed to building and operate four biomethne plants in different regions of Italy, an investment for investment exceeded $ 1 million. It was done through the Equalia Capital Fund of the plane of the plane with the aim of contributing to cleaner energy production and helping local development.

Established in Spain in 2007, Plennium Partners have been present in Italy since the 21st, an office in Rome and an existing portfolio of over 35 Operational Photovoltike projects. The new financing has identified another group’s efforts to expand and diversify its investments in Europe. The company plans to explore opportunities in the biomethane sector outside the current platform.

The role of ING in financing is combined with its broader promise to support renewable power projects in Italy and contribute to the global change in the short-carbon economy. With the growing strategy of the difference strategy, the combination of € 150 billion in sustainable finance by 2027 is to combine € 150 billion in the finances and promote its annual renewable energy financing to $ 7.5 billion by 2025.

Biomethane and its role in Europe

Biomethane is increasingly seen as a source of a relevant renewable energy in Europe. It helps reduce waste by converting fertilizers, agriculture residues and food waste into energy, thereby reducing the use and pollution of landfills.

These plants can strengthen the rural economies by providing employment to farmers and livestock owners who provide biological material and provide new earning opportunities.
