Islamabad blames India for supporting groups that carry out attacks in Pakistan, which New Delhi denies.
The Pakistan Army said it had killed 30 fighters who tried to cross the border from Afghanistan, a few days after a suicide attack in the same area was killed by 16 Pakistani soldiers.
The fighters, all who died in the past three days, belonged to the Pakistani Taliban or its subsidiaries, according to the Pakistani army, who praised its forces to prevent a “possible disaster” on Friday.
A Taliban faction, Pakistan, a separate group of the Afghan Taliban, claimed responsibility for a suicide explosion last week in the border neighborhood in northern Waziristan in the Khyber Bakhtongu Province.
The Pakistani army was killed by fighters in the same area.
Although a statement issued by the army in the country did not provide details about his work against the fighters, he confirmed that he had seized “a large amount of weapons, ammunition and explosives.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Shibaz Sharif praised his country’s security forces on Friday for “thwarting an attempt to infiltrate.”
His office said: “We are determined to eliminate all forms of terrorism completely from the country.”
The Prime Minister and the army’s statements blamed India to support the fighters.
Although New Delhi has not yet commented on the last accusation, it has repeatedly denied allegations by Islamabad that it raises violence in Pakistan.
These accusations have increased in recent months, as tensions have increased between nuclear armed neighbors.
During a four -day conflict between them in May, 70 people were killed on both sides, and regional enemies were on the threshold of their fifth comprehensive war since independence.
The fighting erupted after India accused Pakistan of supporting the militants who killed 26 people in the disputed Kashmir area on April 22. Islamabad denied any involvement.
Violence has increased in the border areas of Pakistan since the Taliban has been power again in Afghanistan, in 2021, with the bloodiest last year in a decade.
Pakistan’s government increased defensive spending by 20 % in June, with 14 % of the country’s total budget in the country.
