US President Donald Trump connects US aid to the trial of corruption in Netanyahu in the fire on his social media.

US President Donald Trump launched a major attack on Israeli prosecutors on the ongoing trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing it as “madness” and linking Washington’s financial support to procedures.

After publishing it on the social truth platform on Saturday, Trump criticized the Israeli authorities to undermine Netanyahu’s ability to negotiate with the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza and manage the rising tensions with Iran.

“It is madness to do what the public prosecutors do outside control of Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump wrote to the Israeli leader, in reference to the Israeli leader in his name and claimed that his trial would hinder peace efforts in the region.

He added: “The United States of America spends billions of dollars a year … to protect and support Israel. We will not defend this.”

Netanyahu is scheduled to take the situation on Monday to interrogate him in a long -term corruption case that started in 2020.

He faces accusations of bribery, fraud and breach of confidence – all of which are denied. His lawyers asked for a delay for two weeks in the testimony, noting the demands of national security after the 12 -day Israel conflict with Iran. This call was rejected on Friday.

Israeli Knesset members accused Netanyahu of using regional conflicts to secure an end to the trial of his corruption.

Trump’s comments come a few days after the suggestion of the ceasefire deal with Hamas is close.

Speaking to reporters, Netanyahu claimed to work in negotiations with the Palestinian group, although no more details were provided.

Hamas has stated that it would liberate the remaining Israeli prisoners in Gaza as part of a deal to end the war, but it rejected the Israeli demands to completely disarm.

Netanyahu calls for resignation

Political turmoil in Israel deepened, with renewed calls for the resignation of Netanyahu. In a televised interview with Channel 12, former Prime Minister Navalie Bennett said it was time for Netanyahu to step down.

“He was in power 20 years ago … this is too much,” Bennett said. “He bears great responsibility for divisions in Israeli society.”

It is said that Bennett, who has taken a break from politics, is looking to return, with opinion polls that indicate that he can challenge Netanyahu again.
