Liverpool are now preparing a bid for the ‘dangerous’ winger who could be brought in as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, and they are confident the bid will be accepted, according to the report.
Salah’s future hangs in the balance
After the Reds made it seven wins from seven in the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Lille on Tuesday night, Salah made it clear once again that he does not know whether he will sign a new contract to stay at Anfield. saying: “I’m not sure about that, but I’ll do my best.”
The forward later admitted he hopes reaching 50 goals in European competition is not his last milestone as a Liverpool player, saying: “Hopefully not the last (milestone), but I’m very proud of it.
“I didn’t focus on that before the game. (Lille) have a really good game plan and they haven’t lost in 21 games so they’re a pretty tough team. I’m glad we managed to win this game.”
At this point, it is anyone’s guess whether the 32-year-old will continue his stay at Liverpool, which means Slot Arne now we need to start looking at possible replacements.

Relatives
According to reports from Spain, the player Real Sociedad’s Takefus Kubo is likely to replace Salah at Anfield.having been identified by Slott as a suitable target. The Cuban has a €60m (£51m) release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad, but the Reds are trying to agree a different deal.
Slott’s side are now preparing a €50m (£42m) bid for the winger in a deal that also includes Federico Chiesa, with the Italian unable to adapt to life in Major league. The Merseyside club are said to be confident their offer will be accepted by Sociedad.
Kubo has been impressive in La Liga
The Japanese striker has been a key player for Sociedad over the last three seasons, most notably picking up nine goals and seven assists in La Liga during the 2022-23 campaign. Scout/writer Ben Mattinson also praised the striker for his versatility, goal threat and creativity last season.
At 23, the Sociedad star is still young and has time to develop, but he is already playing at a very high level, particularly impressing with his dribbling ability over the past year, ranking 99th percentile for progressive transfers and successful receptions for 90.
So, if the nightmare scenario were to happen and Salah leaves Liverpool, Cuba could step in to replace him, although it is unlikely that any player will be able to come in immediately and record numbers similar to the Egyptian.
