Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said that on Tuesday, President Donald Trump invited him over the weekend to discuss Nato in a fire at Harrisburg Governor’s home after a week after the incident.
Shapiro said Trump called on Saturday morning and “very merciful.”
“I appreciated that the president called me” Shapiro, Democrat, told reporters at the annual hunt in the East Egg in Harrisburg, which is held in the Governor’s residence. “I didn’t actually receive his call because he came from his mobile phone and I didn’t have that number in my phone, so I didn’t know who it was. As soon as I heard his message, I called him now.”
“He was very fatigious,” Shapiro said, adding that Trump asked his wife and children as they “talked a few minutes about what he resided in the residence.”

Six days between the attack 13. April and Trump’s call were sharply consumed by Shapir’s efforts in immediate after trying to Trump Life at Rally’s campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania, July.
Shapiro quickly condemned an assassination attempt, calling violence against any political party or leader “absolutely unacceptable” on social media the day of shot. He also worked with the implementation of the law and called Trump’s campaign, although he did not talk to Trump directly.
Shapir’s home held significant damage this month after man allegedly pierced in Governor’s residence, while Shapiro and his family were inside and used Molot’s cocktails to start multiple fires.
Trump did not condemn the attack, even as others in his administration and reputable republicans have publicly commented it.
He was asked if the motive was identified in the attack, Trump had said last week that he did not hear about one, adding that the attacker “was not a Trump lover.”
“He’s probably just a blow. And that’s definitely such a thing is not allowed,” Trump said at the time.
Shapiro said on Tuesday that his call with Trump lasted close to 20 minutes and that they were about “all over other topics” next to the fire attack.
“It’s suitable for questions important to me,” Shapiro said, adding that he knows “questions that matter.”
Shapiro on Tuesday discussed one of these questions – tariffs – saying she hoped Trump “would recourse their heading plan to make Americans and companies confident in capital investment.”
“I was critical of those tariffs because they will drive prices, and we already see that. And because they will have companies and individuals, families, because they are worried about the future, and the insecurities and chaos, it will be the capital,” he said.
