Frankfort, Ky. – The signs of renovation in the Buffalo Trade Distillery In Kentucky, since the flood water flooded the scotch campus. But the executives say that a pair task will review at him any bourbon barrels that are touched by high water.

The historical distillery continued to deliver ghosts and hopes that Friday will reopen its work for bottling, Jake Wenz, General Manager and President Sazerac Co. and distillers. The campus could re-open visitors soon in a limited basis, but for now it is closed for guests throughout Sunday.

Now that the blur flood waters are gone, cleaning in Buffalo Trace is progressing. Engineer teams and restoration experts evaluate damage in buildings that were flooded.

The total amount of damage is still determined, the distillery said.

These assessments include some of the barrels that are fulfilled by aging whiskey. Bourbon gets his taste and golden brown color during aging. Workers could move some barrels of bourbon to the upper floors of stored warehouses before the rain passed a flood longer.

Inspections of any barrels that floods of touches began on Thursday and will continue until it is closely assessed, a process that could last for several weeks to complete, the distillery said. He did not say how affected the barrels, but said not to expect a meaningful loss of inventory.

“This is a very involved process, including the irresigned inspection, as well as rigorous quality testing we work with all our products,” Harlen Wheatley said, Master Distillator on Buffalo traces.

Based on his experience from previous floods, the distillery is “confident in our process” and that he successfully recovered barrels affected by the flood, Wheatley said. The distillery has markers several marks of high water from previous floods within their buildings.

“A lot of heart and soul enters every product we make, which is why our team is dedicated to testing with severe supervision of each barrel that may be affected by flood waters to ensure that there is no problem,” he said.

The crews began to read the center for the visitor of the distillery, where the flood reached the first floor. During repair, the distillery said that it plans to reopen the modified version of its visitors center.

As a first step, the distillery plans to manage a modified retail center from its visitors’ login center. The approach will be through the e-mail reservation system that is the first offered to people who interrupted the flood tours.

Buffalo Distillery Trace is owned by Sazerac and its popular bourbons include Buffalo Trace, Eagle River and WL Weller brand.
