At least two people were killed and five were injured during a mass shooting in Indianapolis early on Saturday morning, which occurred hours after people gathered to celebrate on July 4.

Fox 59 stated that one of the dead was an event, while the era of other deaths was not immediately known.

At an emotional press conference, Indianapolis Police Chief Metropolitan Chris Billy criticized how young people were wandering in the city center, causing trouble. He added that parents should take responsibility for not supervising their children. “We are not your children’s guards,” he said.

What do you know

The police said that the shooting occurred at about 1:30 am on Saturday, while the violence was poured into the July 4 celebrations, in which fireworks were seen throughout the city.

After reports of shooting, the officers arrived at the corner of the Western market and North Illinois Street, and later confirmed that three events and three adults had been shot.

One person died at the scene and one of the events died in the hospital. An additional person was shot, but there was no immediate information about the victim’s age.

Billy told the correspondents that there were hundreds of “non -supervising children” in the city center and urged parents and guardians to ascend.

“A child has died tonight, and we do not know the era of the young man on the street still here,” Billy said. “It seems young.”

He said Violence was “completely unacceptable and unnecessary.” Thousands came to the city center to enjoy fireworks and then went home, but “thousands chose to go down here and throughout the night a problem.”

Billy said that the officers had to move from one place to another in the city to prevent disturbances, adding, “To be honest, I have been tired of it. You must get tired of it.”

Pelly said that there are more than 20 arrests overnight from shooting and battles. Pelly added that the weapons were recovered from two young men, including the person who had an offensive rifle stuffed at the front of his pants.

The police regained firearms at the scene and arrested many of them because of their interrogation while investigating the shooting.

Pelly said he would work with the Office of the Marion County Prosecutor to find out whether parents could be held accountable for the behavior of their children.
