Berlin EcosiaGreen search engines that invest in 100% of its profit invested in climate action initiatives, are launching a new climate impact for its 20 million users – their initial focus has taken away from planting trees.
They can now log in to a new profile page and start collecting a seed for each day using ecosia on their ‘Impact counter, which will show them how they are contributing to real world initiatives to deal with the forest land, from renewable energy and climate investment.
ChristianThe CEO of Ecosia commented: ”We have started as a tree planting search engine but we have expanded a lot out of it and now have invested in various climate effects from renewable energy and climate technology to biodiversity protection. We wanted to give access to the true impact of our users, so we are adding new ways to share, share and shape them.
“As Governments are returning climate protection around the world, we are doing the opposite, we have the power to properly deal with our users in the hands of our users, and make it easier to make true differences than ever.“
Ecosia was established in 20 and from then on the upward $ 92 million for climate work. Although most profits are on the world to re -delay for planting and protection of more than 225 million trees around the world – this company has a growing focus on climate impact initiatives.
They support renewable energy and climate to support renewed agriculture and are in the application of climate and biodiversity protection.
ICally, Ecosia was known as a plant-planting search engine-more than 20 million trees were planted worldwide since the launch in the 21st.
Now, the leadership team of Ecosia has decided to transfer a broad climate to a wider climate investment. These include investment in regenerative agriculture, renewable energy and other biodiversity protection projects. Ecosia is still suitable where the tree will plant, but it is no longer the focus of their initial climate effect.
This is probably the biggest change in Ecosia’s business model since the launch-in addition to the decision of the founder Creole to give its shares in 2018, and in addition to the decision to create their own search engine back-end (ending Google) last year.
With impact counters and new profile views, users will see how their seeds are having a clear positive impact on people, ecosystem and wildlife, which gives visual proof of how much they have helped to fill the planet. Their profile will display the number of saplings planted, the amount of renewable energy, hours of tree care and approximate statistics to restore the region.
Over time, Ecosia will create functionality so that users can make their Ecosia experience more personal and in new ways to involve their real world influences, for example how to activate more climate, accessing exclusive materials and planetary prizes and partnering with others behind the targets.
Crawl Connected: “TAttracting the climate crisis can feel like heavy work and what to do and where to start can be hard to know. By creating and creating this experience with personal elements like our new counter, we hope to engage and increase our community, which means we can then turn our climate effect.
“We see a future where climate impact becomes a platform for social change – the enthusiastic about planets provides an easy way to connect and promote climate actionThe “
