Everton are now in talks with an agent to sign the ‘fantastic’ defender for £13m

Everton have now held talks with an agent to sign the ‘excellent’ defender, who is available for £13m this month, according to the report.

The Toffees need young options at fullback

Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young have had stellar careers, with the latter proving to be a consistent starter in Major league this season. However, it would be fair to say that the duo are in the twilight of their careers, that is David Moyes he is tasked with bringing in more young options at full-back this month or in the summer, and a number of targets have been identified.

Southampton Kyle Walker-Peters could be available for a cut-price £5m this winter, given his contract expires at the end of the campaign, and the Toffees are among the clubs eyeing a move for the Englishman.

Everton are looking for another Premier League player to strengthen the opposite side, with Chelsea Ben Chilwell is on their target listwho fell out of favor at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Enzo Maresca in the summer.

David Moyes is looking to strengthen his attacking options this month.

A report from CalcioMercato has revealed another player that the Toffees are showing some interest in, saying that they held talks with the agent of Milan’s right-back Emerson Royal. Emerson is set to leave the San Siro this month and there are a number of clubs vying for his signature, including Fulham and Galatasaray, however the latter club are currently leading the race for his signature.

Everton still have time to swoop in, with the Turkish club yet to make a €15m (£13m) bid from Milan, and there are signs the Brazilian is keen on a move to Goodison Park. Although joining Galatasaray is somewhat appealing to the 26-year-old, he would prefer a return to the Premier League, having previously spent time at Tottenham Hotspur.

What Emerson could offer Everton

The former Spurs man particularly impressed with his play last year, taking a place in the rankings 89th percentile for tackles by 90 when compared to positional peers, while also ranking in the 81st percentile in clearances and 83rd in wins.

Emerson Royal of

Ange Postecoglou was full of praise for the right-back ahead of his move to Milan, with the Australian showing he’s a great player who needs to boost team morale: “I see it every day, others don’t, but when you watch Emerson Royal practice every day, you’d think he plays every game.

“He’s just great with his attitude and his demeanor around this place. There’s no time for anyone to feel down.”

With Coleman nearing the end of his career, there are signs that Emerson could be a suitable long-term replacement at right-back, but the Tories will have to act quickly given that Galatasaray are in a winning position in their current form.
