When Mikel Arteta talked about Nwaneri, when he was in his press conference, I am sure that the eyebrows were lit. I know that mine were a bit, but we probably should understand something from those comments. Arteta is relatively measured around what he says, especially when it comes to young players, so he would not mention responsibly. I thought he was imagining, which potentially opens the door to play in more advanced attack positions.
Last week he was only 18 years old, and his first season has 8 goals with his name. In England, U29S and now U21S, another 7 goals under his belt, also helps in the mix. I know that minors need to put these games in this context, but that’s 15 goals, and you would expect to add between the end of the campaign. Spectacular numbers of a player of his older.
I don’t think it will be in the center, not at the time when the physical profile of these players is so separated, but it is clear that it is the player who needs to enter the most advanced positions.
