Egypt says the forced Palestinian displacement is a “red line” where Qatar calls it “an extension” of the Israeli policy of violating the rights of the Palestinian.

Egypt and Qatar have expressed strong condemnation of the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the displacement of the Palestinians, including through the Rafah crossing.

In a statement on Friday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the comments as part of “continuous attempts to prolong an escalation in the region and to perpetuate instability while avoiding accountability for Israeli violations in Gaza.”

In an interview with the Israeli Telegram channel, Abu Ali Express, Netanyahu claimed that there are “various plans for how to rebuild Gaza” and claimed that “half of the population wants to leave Gaza”, claiming that it is “not a mass exhaustion.”

He said: “I can open Rafah to them, but it will be closed immediately by Egypt.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt repeated “its legal rejection of the forced or forced Palestinians from their land.”

The ministry added: “(Egypt) confirms that these practices represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and rise to war crimes that cannot be tolerated.”

The statement stressed that Egypt will never be complicit in such practices and does not act as a channel for Palestinian displacement, describing it as a “red line” that cannot be crossed.

“Collective punishment will not succeed.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar strongly criticized Netanyahu’s statements, describing them “an extension of the occupation’s approach to violating the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.”

He said in a statement, “The policy of the collective punishment practiced by the occupation against the Palestinians … will not succeed in forcing the Palestinian people to leave their lands or to confiscate their legitimate rights.”

She stressed the need that “the international community unites with the design to confront extremist and provocative policies of the Israeli occupation, in order to prevent the continuation of the cycle of violence in the region and its spread to the world.”

The war of words comes at a time when Egypt and Qatar continue to lead the mediation efforts between Hamas and Israel, seeking to secure the ceasefire in Gaza and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the coastal pocket.

Hamad Qalout from Al -Jazeera, who was reported to Oman, said that Netanyahu’s comments were “incredibly controversial” because it is the Israeli government that determined that “the Palestinians want from Gaza.”

“The condemnation of both Qatar and Egypt mainly tells Israel that this is part of its greatest plan, and that Israel has launched the war on the Gaza Strip, and that the continuation of crimes against the Palestinian people and the total closure of crossing the borders is the reason for its imprisonment in gas, and not because of anything else,” she said.

“It is Israel that created this policy on its own.”
