Damian Lillard discussed the reasoning to re-sign with the Blazers of Portland Trail, mostly attention to his family.
“Knowing that I’m going home for all parts of my life, let my whole family drive my whole family, my mother, my mother, my brother, all my friends throughout Portland,” Lillard said. “All these things are counted. I hope I didn’t happen soon.”
Lillard signed a three-year agreement last week, did not have a trading clause and a player option for the third year.
The 35-year-olds did not discard the opportunity to return to the court next season, when the violations of Achilles have been rushed that he did not rush.
“My self would think differently, but I think of age, you are more scholar,” Lillard said. “As Joe (Cronin) said, after all, what is best, I think, to ensure that I’m going to take the most of your time, that’s right.”
Lillard currently has franchise records at most points and 3 pointers. Blazers won four playoffs and went to the Western Conference Final once in Lillard’s previous 11 seasons.
Chauncey Billups added that Lillard will perform an active participant in the group despite injury to the next season.
“I told him that this year will be the greatest coach paid in League history, because I will work every day,” Billups said.
