U.S. President Donald Trump says that they will guess the films made in foreign countries with 100% tariffs, While he increases trade disputes with nations around the world.

Trump said he authorizes the U.S. Ministry of Trade and the Trade Representative to initiate the process to impose onapture because the American film industry is dying “very fast death.”

He blamed “common effort” to other countries that offer incentives to attract filmmakers and studies, which he described as a “threat of national security.”

His remarks could write a “stroke” in the industry, a union warned, where the filmmakers left Hollywood for destinations like Great Britain and Canada in search of lower costs.

Trump said on his social platform of the truth: “That’s, next to everything else, the message and propaganda!”

“We want movies made in America, again!”

The American Secretary for Store Howard Lutnick responded to the latest announcement, saying “that we are on it.”

But the details of the move are not clear. Trump statement did not say if the tariff applies to American production companies that produce films abroad.

Several recent main movies produced by American studios are shipped outside America, including Deadpool & Wolverine, Evil and Gladiator II.

It would also be unclear whether the tariffs would be applied to streaming services movies, such as Netflix, as well as those shown in cinemas or to calculate.

The founder of the European Chain of China Vue, Timothy Richards, questioned how Trump would define the American film.

Speaking the BBC Radio 4 program, he said, “Is the money from where the money came from? Screenplay, director, talent, where was he shot?”

Mr. Richards said that the costs of shooting in Southern California rose significantly in the last few decades, encourage production to move elsewhere.

“But it’s not just really funding,” he added.

“One reason has done in the UK so that we have some of the most comfortable and qualified film and production crews in the world.

“The devil will be in detail.”

Meanwhile, the UK Media Union BECTU warned the tariffs “to invest a blow with a blow” in the industry how to recover from pandemic and “recent slowdown”.

The head of the Philippa Djetens Union told the BBC: “The government must move quickly to defend this vital sector and supports free people who are, as a matter of essential national interest.”

It is unclear whether the proposals would affect movies such as evil, which was recorded in the UK but produced by the US studio

Great Britain for Culture, Media and Sports, Industrial Body of the British Film Institute and the Film Film Association, which represents five main American film studies, did not immediately respond to the BBC comment requests.

The Governments of Australia and New Zealand said in support of the film industries of its countries.

“No one should be doubt that we will be unguided for the rights of the Australian screen,” said Australian Minister of Household Jobs Tony Burke.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon told a press conference for his government to wait for further details of the proposed tariffs.

“But we will obviously be a great advocate, a great champion of that sector and that industry,” he added.

From return to the White House in January, Trump imposed tariffs about countries around the world.

He claims the tariffs will strengthen American manufacturers and protect jobs – but the global economy abolishes in chaos as a result, and the prices of goods around the world are expected to increase.

Behind its inauguration, Trump appointed three movie stars – Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone – to be special ambassadors in charge of the promotion of business opportunities in Hollywood, described as “big, but very problematic place”.

“They will serve as special envoys for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, who lost a lot of work in the last four years to foreign land, back – bigger, better and stronger than ever before!” Trump then wrote.

The US remains the main film production hub globally despite the challenges, according to the research company for the Prodpro film industry.

His latest annual report shows that the country saw 14.54 billion dollars (10.94 billion pounds) of production consumption last year. That was 26% of 2022. years.

Countries that attract the increase in consumption in the same period include Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, states in the report.

And before this latest announcement, the American film industry influenced the decay from Trump’s trafficking policies.

In April, China said that he reduces his US film quota allowed to the country.

“The incorrect action of the US government to abuse tariffs in China will inevitably reduce the disease of domestic audiences towards American films,” said Chinese film administration.

“We will follow in the rules market, we respect the selection of the audience and moderately reduce the number imported by American movies.”
