Canada will recognize the Palestinian State at the United Nations General Assembly: Carney news star-news.press/wp

Canadian Prime Minister says Hamas cannot play a role in the future of Palestine or participate in the possible 2026 elections.
Canada has joined many Western countries in announcing its intention to recognize a Palestinian state amid the ongoing Israeli atrocities that are revealed in Gaza.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Wednesday.
He explained that Ottawa was hoping that a solution from the two countries would be achieved through a peace negotiation process, but this approach is no longer recovered.
“Canada intends to recognize the state of Palestine at the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025,” Carney told reporters.
This step follows a similar advertisement from the United Kingdom and France earlier this month.
But it is not clear how such confessions will affect Israel’s continuous war in Gaza and the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank – the minority that would form a Palestinian state.
Carney said that the recognition is based on the promises of reform from the Palestinian Authority and President Mahamoud Abbas and the commitment to hold the general elections in 2026.
He stressed that Hamas cannot play any role in the future of Palestine and will not be allowed to participate in the future elections, which is a condition that some argue that it can spoil any democratic process.
“Maintaining a solution of the two countries means standing with all people who choose peace on violence or terrorism,” Carney said.
The United States, the supreme ally of Israel, rejected the moves to recognize a Palestinian state, saying that politics is equivalent to Hamas.
