Los Angeles – California regulators have published a new proposal that would enable testing of detached heavy trucks on public roads.
The State Department for motor vehicles announced the proposed regulations on Friday to allow vehicles with detached vehicles over 10,001 kilograms, opening a door to testing the self-confidence technology with the previously prohibited autonomic semi-truck on the road.
The regulators say that only the guidance of heavy freight cargo is already tested in other countries, including Texas, Arizona and Arkansas. California is the only state with regulations that explicitly ban them.
