Prime Minister Anthony Albaniz confirmed on Monday that Australia is planning to recognize the Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly next month.
“Australia will get to know the right of the Palestinian people in their own state, based on the obligations that Australia received from the Palestinian Authority,” Albannz said, referring to the ruling entity of a part of the West Bank, referring to the ruling entity of part of the West Bank.
He said that these obligations included the enrollment of the judges in Gaza and the holding of the elections – with the absence of a Hamas role in a Palestinian government. Australia has identified Hamas as a terrorist entity, and Monday reiterated his government’s government’s calls to return the Israeli hostages since the October 7 2023 massacre.
Albaniz said that Australia will work with the international community to make the Palestinian state’s right.

“This is an opportunity to present the self -determination to the people of Palestine in a way that isolates Hamas, removes it and graduated from the area once and forever,” Albaniz said.
Until now, nearly 150 United Nations members have realized the state of Palestine – many of them have done decades ago. The United States and many of its Western allies have stopped, on the pretext that the Palestinian state should be the last stage of ending the conflict that has continued since 1948.
Meanwhile, the Israeli leaders pushed the recognition of a Palestinian state, on the pretext that it will equal terrorism and do little to strengthen the position of the Palestinian Authority, which lost control of the Gaza Strip after a violent conflict with Hamas in 2007. The terrorist group has ruled Gaza since then.
The 2025 sessions of the United Nations General Assembly will start on September 9 and will continue until September 25.
