The Millennium Falcon, even extending beyond the “Star Wars” galaxy, is one of the most recognizable vehicles in the history of pop culture, with the Delorean of “Back to the Future” or Aston Martin DB5 by James Bond. Of course, it was a great pleasant time for the crowd when the boat was revealed to “Star Wars: Episode VII-The Force Awakens”, surprisingly not in Han Solo possession. So what happened to the fastest junk in the galaxy? How did you lose your dear boat? Finally, we will get an official answer to this question.
For GameMarvel Comics will publish a new five-issue miniseries this fall entitled “Star Wars: Han Solo-Hunt for the Falcon”. Located between the events of “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens”, he will eventually reveal exactly what happened to the Millenarian Falcon during this period of time. The series is written by Rodney Barnes with art works by Ramon Rosanas. We also have several covers for the first number so you can take a look below.
As for the particularities of the story? The synopsis is read as follows:
In the previous time to “The Force Awakens”, where is the Millennium Falcon?! Less than satisfied with a settled life, Solo is based on the idea of recovering the hawk and returning to an adventure life. The problem is that he does not find him. After installing a chewbacca less than enthusiastic, the duo begins in search of the largest boat in the galaxy. On his way, there is a list of rugs that have also claimed the millennium hawk, like the bad scoundrel stolen by the Falcon, Ducain.
Recall that “Solo: A Star Wars Story” revealed how he got the millennium falcon first in Lando Calrissian. Thereafter, the Falcon was the baby of Han. That is why it always seemed strange that he had lost his possession of his precious boat at the moment when “The Force Awakens” collects, with the movie providing little details on how this happened. As such, this is very a story that is worth telling, and as these covers reveal, Lando (naturally) will also be part of the procedure.
Marvel is discovering another key part of Star Wars story
In “The Force Awakens”, after Han (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew and Joonas Sutotamo) find Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (Joh Boyega) aboard the Falcon, Rey explains that “he robbed him in Unkar Plutt, he stole -the boys Irving, who raised him from Ducian.” They then quickly responds: “Whoever stole it.” This is all we really know at this stage. Unkar Plutt was Jakku’s hunting played by Simon Pegg, but the movie is not approaching how it ended with the boat.
“Han Solo: Hunt for the Falcon is a dream come true. Han, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando were my heroes as a kid,” Barnes said about the next comic book series. “Write an adventure that includes this quartet (and much more!) Is really an honor. A huge review of my cube list!”
A miniseries by Marvel Comics feels like the perfect way to tell this story. After all, it is not as if Ford adapts to a movie or a Disney+ series to tell this story. This is probably not a big enough story to justify the narrative in live action. In fact, comics can be a great way to fill the gaps left by the movies. A “Star Wars” comic of 2020 revealed what happened to Luke Skywalker’s blue saber after losing – during the Climax battle in “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Stries Back”, for example. It seems to be another very appropriate use of the environment.
“Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon” #1 comes to the shelves on September 3, 2025.
