Berlin – a stabbing attack on the busy central rabbit in the German city of Hamburg left several people injured, some of them in dangerous condition, authorities said. The woman was arrested as a suspect.

The attacker aimed people on the platform between the records 13 and 14 at the station at about 18 hours, towards the police. Station in the center of Hamburg, the second largest city of Germany, is the main hub for local, regional and long-lasting trains.

Late on Friday night, Hamburg firefighting service said a total of 17 people were injured – four of them with life-threatening injuries. Six others had serious injuries, and the remaining seven had light injuries, the German news agency DPA reported.

Police said the 39-year-old woman, German citizens, arrested at the scene without setting up resistance and believe after watching the video she had done on her own. They secured a knife.

There was no immediate indication of any political motif, and investigators watched whether the suspect may have been mentally ill, said Police Spokesman Florian Abbenseth.

The large ice train with the door open was still at work after the attack, but AbbenSeth said it was not a crime scene.

Deutsche Bahn Railway operator said “deeply shocked” attack. Four trails at the station were closed on Friday night, and some railroads are late or redirected.

Loading weapons, including knives, is prohibited at the station and local transport in Hamburg.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the German leader was glowing with the news, and said Hamburg Peter Tschentcher in the call on Friday night, he said “my thoughts with the victims and their cousins.”
